Welcome to Learn and Play Preschool
Our History
The idea for “Learn and Play Preschool” began while I was on maternity leave from a third-grade teaching position in Acton. My goals and aspirations changed while I was home with my first child and able to share in the wonders of his everyday experiences. I realized the importance of providing a high-quality early childhood experience and wanted to ensure that my children’s most formative years were spent in an environment that is safe, nurturing, and developmentally stimulating. Having spent many years in the field of early childhood education, I knew the vital importance of young children developing healthy, consistent, and meaningful relationships. This led to the creation of Learn and Play Preschool. In September 2002, I began a toddler/preschool program for two and three-year-old children in my home. This decision enabled me to continue what I enjoyed doing the most, teaching young children and being home with my own children. Two years later in September 2004, Learn and Play Preschool moved to a new location at 245 Main Street in Acton and was licensed as a group childcare center through the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care. The location has taken on many renovations and expansions over the years and we currently have three classrooms with 50+ children enrolled.
